FAQ

WHAT IS THE Objectif 10,000 APP ?

Objectif 10,000 is not just another running app. Objectif 10,000 is a fun and sporty team experience, available on the AppStore and Google Play. Objectif 10,000 tracks your physical activity (walking, running, cycling), with or without the use of a third-party app, and turns it into points which will help your team rank higher.

There are regular missions and quizzes to add fun to the experience and help you and your teammates earn even more points, always in a good spirit. So… Ready? 🙂

WHAT IS THE PRINCIPLE OF THE EXPERIENCE ?

Objectif 10,000 promotes physical activity, team spirit and the well-being of everyone. Your reward: doing good for your body and mind, as well as sharing a unique and inspiring experience with your colleagues.

Incidentally, your company may decide to set up incentives, both individual and collective, for the benefit of a charity or an environmental project, for example.

IS Objectif 10,000 COMPATIBLE WITH MY SMARTPHONE ?

Objectif 10,000 is available on:

  • iOS – from iOS 13
  • Android – from version 7

Unfortunately, Objectif 10,000 is not available on Windows Phones.

IS MY DATA PROTECTED ?

Of course! We are very careful to protect your data and we only use it for the experience you are participating in. Furthermore, Squadeasy (the technology used by Objectif 10,000) is registered with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) in order to comply with the 1978 data protection act. RULES OF THE CHALLENGE

HOW DOES THE RANKING WORK ?

Teams are ranked according to the points they have earned.

The goal is simple: earn as many points as possible! The team’s points are the sum of each team member’s points. The team’s ranking progress can be followed in real time in the application.

For seasonal challenges (which last several months), the teams get medals according to their rank at the end of each month. At the beginning of the following month, the points are reset to 0, and your team has a new opportunity to win a medal!

WHAT IS A BOOST ?

A boost is a magical power which gives a teammate a 10% bonus on the points they earn that day.

Whether or not you are physically active yourself, you can boost your colleagues! A single user can accumulate up to 3 boosts, giving them a 30% bonus. So you can really rack up the points. It’s up to you to be as strategic as possible! But be careful, each participant can only send one boost each day!

HOW DO I USE THE BOOSTS ?

To boost a teammate, it’s very simple! Go to the “Team” page then click on “Boost” for the teammate you want to boost. You can also directly boost the teammate you want from their profile (on the same page).

Important: if you boost a teammate, this boost will only be valid for 24 hours. Similarly, if you get a boost from a teammate, it will also count for 24 hours. So be strategic 😉

WHAT IS A MISSION ?

Missions pop frequently to challenge you to surpass yourself and get bonus points.

For example, you may be offered to complete a certain number of steps or distance in a limited amount of time. These bonus points are an additional motivation to move and improve the rankings!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MISSIONS ON THE COMPANY CHALLENGE ?

To participate, nothing could be simpler! You just have to go to the homepage and click on “Superactive Mode”. All the current missions will be available below each activity.
To validate them, you just need to start an activity.

WHAT IS A QUIZ ?

Objectif 10,000, it’s not just about physical activity!
You will regularly be asked to answer questions on different topics (sport, health/nutrition, etc.)

If the answer is correct, you will receive bonus points. If you have any doubts about the answer, don’t hesitate to exchange with your team members via the application’s chat room 😉

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE QUIZZES ?

You have to go to the bottom of the homepage, then click on the quiz to answer it.
The question and the suggested answers will then appear on the screen.

Whether your answer is right or not, there will always be a little explanatory text to give you more details and, we hope, teach you new things!

HOW DO YOU PREVENT CHEATING ?

Of the many activities promoted by Objectif 10,000, cheating is certainly not one of them 😉

This experience should be approached in a spirit of fair play and joy. We count on you and your teammates to preserve this spirit!

As in any game, cheating is still obviously possible. We detect suspicious activity (analysing speed, pace, etc.) and we can adjust points accordingly. If needed, we will contact the participant to ask them for more details. If someone is found to be cheating, their points will be removed, and they be excluded from the experience altogether.

TRACKING AND SYNCHRONISATION

I’VE JUST CREATED MY ACCOUNT. WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE STARTING ?

Whatever phone you have, make sure you allow access to movement and GPS in the Objectif 10,000 app or in the phone’s settings (Google Fit for Android, and Apple Health for iOS), otherwise no activity will be recorded.

HOW DO I RECORD MY STEPS ?

Start an activity directly from the application’s homepage. Just click on “Superactive Mode”, then “Run” or “Cycling”.

Once the GPS is acquired, click on “Start”. To end the activity, press “Finish”.
A summary of the performance appears.

The points scored after an activity are added to your personal counter, and to your team’s counter.

The step counting is automatic.
It syncs with your Google Fit (for Android) and Apple Health (for iOS) app for more precise tracking.
You can also use Garmin, Fitbit or Strava to synchronize your activities (See below for further details).

WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NUMBER OF STEPS RECORDED VIA MY THIRD-PARTY APP AND ON Objectif 10,000?

All apps have their own algorithm to calculate the number of steps made on a daily basis. No method is 100% reliable and it’s possible you may sometimes see a difference between your app and Objectif 10,000. That’s fine, it’s just a game 😉 However, if the difference is too great (above 30%), feel free to write to steppy@squadeasy.com so we can correct this.

WHY ARE MY STEPS BLOCKED ON ZERO?

Did you walk from home this morning but noticed that the counter was still on zero when you checked the number of steps after arriving at the office? We remind you that iPhones 5 – 5c do not have an accelerometer capable of perfectly recording the steps. You may need to think about changing your phone 🙂 Otherwise, please check that you have downloaded the latest version of the app on your phone and, if you are on Android, that you have downloaded Google Fit – in this case, check whether the steps are recorded in this app. Finally, we ask you to make sure that you have enabled access to your phone’s movement in the app settings. If the problem persists, feel free to write to steppy@squadeasy.com.

ARE THE STEPS COUNTED WHEN YOU GO RUNNING?

The number of steps achieved when running can be included, and earn extra points for you and your team!

The simplest way to count steps as well as a running activity is to go running with your smartphone 🙂

HOW CAN I SYNCHRONIZE MY FITBIT, GARMIN OR STRAVA ACTIVITIES WITH Objectif 10’000?

To synchronize your activities from an application other than Health, Google Fit or Strava, you must synchronize your activities with one of the aforementioned apps and configure a synchronization with Objectif 10,000. Other third-party apps will gradually be supported by Objectif 10,000.

HOW COME THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ACTIVITIES RECORDED ON MY THIRD-PARTY APP AND ON Objectif 10,000?

Each app has its own algorithm and differences from one app to another are to be expected. Remember that no calculation is 100% reliable! However, if the difference is too great (above 30%), feel free to write to steppy@squadeasy.com so we can correct this.

MY WORKOUT WASN’T RECORDED PROPERLY. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You have used Objectif 10,000 and noticed an error with the distance, time or GPS route? This is probably because you lost the GPS signal during your activity or you may have made a mistake.

If needed, write to steppy@squadeasy.com

MY POINTS WEREN’T ADDED AT THE END OF MY ACTIVITY. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It can happen that points aren’t added as soon as you finish an activity. If you still haven’t been allocated your points after several synchronisation attempts, try restarting your Objectif 10,000 app.
If the problem persists on the day following your activity, feel free to write to steppy@squadeasy.com

I RUN ON A TREADMILL AND/OR USE A CROSS TRAINER. ARE THESE ACTIVITIES COUNTED IN Objectif 10,000?

We are well aware that the activities carried out in the gym or at home are just as physical as the outdoor efforts. Unfortunately, we do not currently count this type of activity. Maybe soon? 😉

I’VE GOT A GPS WATCH. HOW DO I CONNECT IT TO Objectif 10,000?

As of now, it is not possible to connect a GPS watch directly to Objectif 10,000. But we are working on it! However, you can still connect your watch to a third-party application (Strava for example) and transfer your data to Objectif 10’000 via it. For your steps counted via your Garmin watch, Steppy recommends that you synchronize Garmin to your health app (Google fit or Health) and allow the latter to sync with Objectif 10,000.

HOW ARE THE WALKING POINTS COUNTED?

The points of the walking activity are computed according to the following rule:
10,000 steps = 60 points.

HOW ARE THE RUNNING POINTS CALCULATED?

The points of the running sessions are calculated according to a calculation formula taking into account the distance, speed, elevation and the boosts. Only runs above 5 km/h and over a 1km distance will be taken into account.

  • Distance Points: 5 pts per 1km covered
  • Speed Points: 3% of the points of the distance x speed
  • Running points: Distance points + Speed points
  • Elevation: 10 pts every 100m
  • Boost Bonus: 1 boost = + 10%.

For example, for a 10.8km running session, at a speed of 11 km/h, and with a 100m elevation, we get:

  • Distance points: 10.8 x 5 = 54
  • Speed points: 0.03 x 54 x11 = 17.82
  • Elevetation points: 10 points
  • Running points: 54 + 17.82 + 10 = 81.82 rounded to 82 points

CHOW ARE THE POINTS CALCULATED AFTER A BIKE RIDE?

Points for the the bike rides are calculated according to a formula that takes into account the distance, speed, elevation and boosts. Only journeys over 8 km/h and over a 1km distance will be taken into account.

  • Distance Points: 3 pts per 1km
  • Speed Points: 1.5% x pts distance x speed
  • Ride points: Distance points + Speed points
  • Elevation: 5 pts every 100m
  • Boost Bonus: 1 boost = + 10%.

For example, for 25.3km ride at 15km/h, and with a 100m elevation, we get:

  • Distance points: 25.3 km x 3 = 75.9
  • Speed points: 0.015×75.9×15 = 17.08
  • Elevation points: 5 points every 100m
  • Ride points: 75.9 + 17.08 + 5 = 97.98 points rounded to 98 points

HOW ARE THE CROSS-COUNTRY SKYING POINTS CALCULATED?

Cross-country skying points are calculated according to a fomula that takes in consideration the distance, speed, elevation and boosts. Only journeys over 2km/h and more than 1km long are taken into account.
The maximum speed accepted is 15km/h

  • Distance points: 10 pts per 1km
  • Speed points: 3% of the distance points x the speed
  • Journey points: Distance points + Speed points
  • Elevation: 10 pts every 100m
  • Boost Bonus: 1 boost = + 10%

HOW ARE THE SNOWSHOES POINTS CALCULATED AFTER A HIKE?

Snowshoes points are calculated according to the following fomula that takes in consideration the distance, speed, elevation and boosts. Only journeys over 0,2 km/h and more than 1km long are taken into account.
The maximum speed accepted is 10km/h

  • Distance points: 5 pts per 1km.
  • Speed points: 6% of the distance points x the speed
  • Hike points: Distance points + speed points
  • Elevation: 12 pts every 100m
  • Boost Bonus: 1 boost = + 10%
